Thank you to the many families that attended our “Dog Days of Summer Ice Cream Social & Picnic!”  This social event served as a great way to show appreciation to those who care a great deal about pets and to also raise money for a great charity.

Forest Park Veterinary Clinic rented the “Bark Til Dark Dog Park”, a non-profit, private Dog Park in Delaware, Ohio for this affair.  Adults and kids were treated to grilled food and refreshments as well as Graeter’s Ice Cream Sundaes.  Dogs enjoyed homemade doggie ice cream and frolicked in the protected leash free park.  They swam in the pond, practiced on the agility course and competed in games such as “Musical Sit” and a “Chow Hound Contest” as owners relaxed and socialized. 

General raffles for prizes were held for all participants and two fund raising raffles were held to raise money for Citizens For Humane Action, a  local 501(C)3 charitable non-profit organization which saves the lives of many cats & dogs in our area.  Raffle prizes included two Ohio State Buckeye football tickets and two individual gift certificates for Forest Park Veterinary Clinic.  The proceeds of these raffles and an additional donation made by the hospital, allowed for a total of $500 to be donated to Citizens for Humane Action.

Many vendors from the animal industry donated funds to help with this event including: Pfizer Animal Health, Merial, Fort Dodge Animal Health and Columbus Serum Company.
