Behavioral Medicine

Sometimes our pet's behavior isn't in line with the way we would like it to be.  Sometimes it is a lack of training that can easily be remedied by working with a certified pet trainer, however, it can also be your pet's way of communicating that there is something bothering them.  Either they do not like to be left alone, they are stressed about a change in their life (like a new member of the family) or they are uncomfortable in their environment.  For whatever the reason, your pet can show their emotions through a variety of destructive behavior including chewing on furniture, urinating or defecating in the house or scratching up your floors, doors and walls.

At Forest Park Veterinary Clinic, our team of doctors and licensed Veterinary Technicians will work with your family to try to figure out why your pet is acting out and what can be done about it.  We will help your to figure out if there is a medical problem involved or if your pet needs some type of stress therapy.  There are a wide range of treatments and medications (both prescription and over-the-counter), that can help make your pet feel more comfortable if some lifestyle changes do not help.

Call us today and find out how we can help your stressed pet!
